A glass vase by Denis O'Connor, ovate, blown in near black glass with a simple stripe in rainbow colours. Signed & dated O'Connor'84 (Factory) on the polished base. The entire surface is silky smooth as if it too has been fire polished, unusual.
An item of gallery quality, by the talented and highly skilled glass artist, in excellent vintage condition, with just some spots of very light surface wear. Denis O'Connor has worked with glass for many years.
He was a pioneer contributor to the evolution of studio glass in Australia during the 1970s and 1980s. However from the late 1980s he reconnected to his art school discovery of drawing the human figure. Denis's work is generated by the emotive directness of drawing. His work in glass now rarely comes to the market. Size: 13 cm high, 18 x 16 cm ; weight 1.28 Kg.Please view all the photos before purchasing, they complete the description. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. All white spots are light reflections.
