Studio pottery southwest native American original artist signed clay hand glazed
This unique piece of pottery was among the collection of an internationally well-known artist and author who frequently traded her own work with other artists during her travels and shows primarily in the 1970s & 80s at the height of her art career. It's provenance is unknown to me other than that. Her sister was a huge collector of early native American pottery, there is a slim possibility it was passed to her that way. It has a height of 6 inches and a 4 inch diameter. It is a whimsical design showing no symmetry in the top or sides. I'm not sure if it holds water long term as it might be a Raku type glaze.
